Gun Talk My current AK armament

Good pair, your bases are for the most part covered.

My WASR changed a lot since I picked it up:

This is what it looked like when I got it, the wood is Russian surplus stained a one-of-a-kind color as a trophy for winning a particular competition. I never really was happy with it because I didn't win that competition and so it was like I was displaying somebody else's trophy :

Before long I'd added a Saiga takeoff dust cover, VLTOR tube adapter, FAB Defense GL-CORE stock, Tangodown grip, WBP flash hider, Krebs safety, knockoff Zenit handguards with an Olight Odin mini and pressure pad, and an extended charging handle made by an old friend. In my experience the handle extensions always pop free and fly off when shooting so I stuffed this one with steelstik putty and it's held up well.

Yes, I painted the dust cover and butt myself. Flash hider also. I did the receiver too for a short time but stripped it after a few days. Just wasn't happy with it.

I gotta say, I personally think it looks good. Was it a rattle can job?

Yes, base coat of flat tan, gave it a few days to dry and then a dollar tree sponge daubed on with the darker brown sprayed on a sheet of cardboard as a palette. Worked well enough but I'm actually considering going back to solid colors. We'll see.
