Anyone have any insight on the differences between Romanian Cugir “Draco” pistols imported by Century Arms and DIY M10 Cugir pistols imported by M+M/Colorado Gun Sales?
From what I can tell from the below links, they are functionally identical, both manufactured at the Cugir plant in Romania, CHF chrome lined barrels, etc. The only readily discernible difference is the importer.
Century Draco: https://www.centuryarms.com/draco-pistol.html
M+M M10: https://cogunsales.com/product/diy-romanian-m10-7-62x39-akm-pistol/
What then would be the justification for M+M charging $200 more for the same pistol imported by Century, except that the M+M DIY model comes without a pistol grip or the crappy balsa-wood furniture?
If the only reasons are “It doesn’t have Century Arms on it” or “customer service,” I’m not sure I think it’s worth the $200. I’ve been trying to get in touch with M+M M10 pistol for weeks to ask about buying the “DIY M10” and to no avail, so customer service hasn’t been impressive. I may just break down and post a WTB ad for a Century Draco and be done with it.
