Gun Talk Reprofiling AK9 handguards

Details

Just want to leave a little how-to guide for reprofiling a lower AK9 handguard to fit a KP9, feel like it'd be helpful info.

When you first get an AK9 lower handguard, the tabs on the lower portion have to be cut/sanded down in order to fit the dimensions of the KP9. On the left in the first picture is the KP9's original lower as evidenced by the perfect marks, whereas the latter is my horrible first attempt at reprofiling the AK9 tab. In the 2nd pic is the space you have to fit the AK9's center tabs into on the KP9, this can be easily done with a Dremel and a nail file to ensure proper fitting. The 3rd picture is stage two of the reprofiling where it finally clicked to start sanding down those inner two tabs to the height shown. With enough persistence, you'll get it fitting properly.
