Gun Talk Lets talk about your favorite AK variant

My favorite (thus far) is my sbr’d kit built ak105, especially when its suppressed. SUPER light recoil, stupid quiet and it ticks lick a watch regardless of ammo type. I absolutely love this rifle.

I need the monies lol
My favorite variant as far as personal experience goes is the 7.62 krink or kronk or krank or whatever you want to call it. X39 performs through an 8” barrel better than I ever would have imagined. I never understood why it wasn’t fielded on a wider scale.

I think it's because they weren't often run suppressed to where you get the full benefit of the shorter package. A great PDW for sure. I have a milled one but man I like yours better I think. Mine was 10" chopped to 9". It's a brick but cool. I got into AKSU late in general because of NFA. That folding wood stock is HOT bro. Awesome guns

And without the booster damn near unless lmao
I can't pick just one, but I can get down to two. I'm gathering parts to build the book ends of German AKs, the Null Series and the Wieger series. One is a classic Type 3 in 7.62x39, one is a very modern (for the '80s anyway) take on the AK-74 in 5.56, and both have distinct features not seen in any other pattern of AK. Plus, I'm part ethnic German, and I find Cold War history fascinating, so it's right up my alley.

That is outstanding! I've never gotten into DDR because of the cost (there was never a good time). I admire your dedication. I'll be excited to see it come to fruition

Yeah, cost and availability don't make it easy. Luckily though, Warsaw Wood Co has made the Wieger a passion project of theirs, and are making repro furniture, as well as putting up some good build information, and JMAC has done a good job of reproducing the German combo block. As for the Null Series, well, it's going to be a bit harder since they were effectively beta models, written off due to poor quality. However most of the critical parts out there, and getting a stock made shouldn't be unreasonable.
Dude it’s hard to pick one AK which is my favorite. If I had to pick one to be for “general purpose” it would be my suppressed 107fr. Sounds cringy but 7.62x39 is the best shtf caliber if you’re stocked on ammo. Every deer I’ve killed has been with x39 soft point. With the micro prism optics BDC I’ve made consistent shots out to 400 yards on a steel plate. X39 standard ball rounds is more quiet than standard 556 suppressed. Sub sonic is as quiet if not more quieter than 300 blkout and from what I’ve saw is more violent than sub 300blk. AK’s with the right furniture can be setup just as well as an AR style rifle to have night fighting capabilities and the list goes on.

Yea bro. This was just last weekend I figured this out. At 100yds I held the dot way above the steel to hit it and they basically mortored in haha

Saw an adapter to use AK mags in the American on Reddit, can't find it back though. IIRC it was 3D printed.

If a man was to 3D print out AK compatible magwells for the American, He would make a considerable amount of money. Mini 30 mags are expensive as shit and the aftermarket ones are pretty shitty.
