For beginners easy Rust Bluing and perfect results.

I think if you are building your own kit and want to save money on the finish this is it.
So top cover is original Hot Blue and I wanted to see if I can match the dark finish with rust bluing at home my self and results ware amazing. Yes it did make me go hmmm maan it's not doing great for the first 5 coats but patience is a must and just keep going. 13 rounds and opaaa I got a dark black with hint of blue and glossy as hell and just beautiful finish and I would never have anyone do my bluing but me.

This is what I did to get this finish on my receiver. And what I used.
And remember Steel Wool has oil in it so it's important that you clean the part with alcohol after you use it. Maaan i wish I did the entire parts kit now lol it looks so good.

1. Polish with 320 sandpaper.
2. Put the parts in acetone and scrub it for 5 minutes.
3. Apply rust Blue solution and use hairdryer to dry it up.
4. Boil it for 5 minutes.
5. Get it out and use stell wool to clean it but lightly with not much pressure.
5. Clean the part with alcohol.
6. Repeat the process.

The receiver looks great. The home recipe is an inexpensive way to start. I've been thinking about doing rust blue for a while. Paying for hot blue gets expensive quickly. Painting just isn't the same.

Yes finishing and building makes sense to keep the cost to bear minimum. And I wouldn't have it any other way when it comes to Bluing. And Rust Bluing is my favorite and I can control it the way i like it. This time I'm going with less shiny and just got a M70 underfolder kit so every part is going g to get Rust Bluing love and I will take my sweet time doing it. I think I can say that I got it down to science and I can have it Mate look or rech Glossy like the one I did in pics.

Remember.. the higher polishing will double your work time.

Came out great. The benefit to cold bluing is that it can be broken up over a few days. I did mine every few days for two months as I had the time.

My next project, just finished with barrel population and still waiting on blank receiver from Chidersguns and it's getting a rust blue treatment. Maan talking about laser precision and ot will be underfolder

Love the old Yugos with the gas shut off/ grenade launcher sight. I still need to pull the trigger on a kit.
These have always been my favorite and they just look good. You got to get one for sure.. if you are from Zagreb, you are my neighbor haha
