Gun Talk AK-105 SBR or parts kit??

Howdy!

I've got some NFA items to part with & I'm just wondering; would more people be interested as parts kits or complete Title II weapons? Or would it be worth it to have the barrels extended & pin/welded? I'm especially curious because if the SHORT act passes, it will nullify all of the NFA rigamarole.

Would anyone even want an 11" Saiga 12 parts kit? I have no idea if anyone is actually building Saiga 12-based weapons themselves. Mine were completed by Sierra Ordnance Company in 2013, but even they had to ship the Saiga 12's barrel to Tromix to be shortened & threaded. It doesn't seem to be a project for n00bz. I would think people would want the AK-105 as a parts kit as the barrel is an original Bulgy 12.5" SLR-105CR, same for the SLR-107CR.

Thoughts?

Pin and weld and remove from registry. Cutting any of those receivers would be a sin. You can offer with pin and weld or NFA transfer. The market is soft right now so selling might take a while regardless. Cutting will lower the value and the buyers pool.

@trekkerpaul I tend to agree. I'm giving all 3 options to anyone interested. These are guns I genuinely thought I would pass on to my kids when I'm gone & never gave much thought to it until very recently. Given that I waited 2 years to get these guns back (ATF stopped accepting out-of-state Form 4s 2 weeks before they got to my apps after a year had already passed), I'll certainly play the long game & wait for a serious buyer to come along.

If the price is reasonable, I'm sure someone will pick it up as a NFA item. It'll save the hassle of the building and engraving. Just file a Form 4 and done. Personally, I already have all the parts for a conversion minus a booster, cleaning rod and Siaga rifle base, so I'm going the conversion route. Out of curiosity, why would you pull the Saiga barrel and use a Bulgarian? The original got shot out?
