Gun Talk Mutt gun

Details

Hello all,

New to the combloc family, but have been cobbling part kits together since 2005. I used to post on gunco.net many moons ago but drifted away from forums since. I figured I'd introduce myself and post a few pictures of what I've been working on the past couple of years. Muttly started out as a black friday deal on a barrel from Apex which was like $35 bucks shipped. I sourced parts from various countries to get a complete kit almost. I think N.K., China, and Bulgaria aren't represented. The receiver is a recreator blanks goof sale, it was supposed to be a tantal receiver but had 7.62 rails welded in. I think the thing cost like $30 bucks shipped. Anyways, those cheap pistol barrels from Apex aren't for your normal parts kit. I had to knurl the journal and turn down some O.D.s. Turned out to be more involved than I thought. A little more fitting then I'll blast and paint it.

I bought the same, same price and the Recreator blank for two different projects. No handguard grooves on the barrel and the diameter is too big for any of the handguard retainers that I have. The gas port is drilled in an odd spot too, I think these barrels were made for the century US made Draco.
Nice build by the way!
