I've gone a little shotgun crazy this spring, so keeping in line with that theme, I decided to splurge a little on something special for my birthday. With my Remington 1100 project wrapped up and a Benelli M4 Entry stuck in NFA jail, I decided to pick up a Beretta 1301 Mod 2.
My first impressions are excellent to say the least. What a shotgun. It has a 18" Barrel with a 7+1+1 capacity. It's light, beefy in the right places, and every function is natural and intuitive. The ghost ring sights are perfect, especially since my vision isn't what it used to be. The recoil is soft. My only issue has been finding the right shoulder strap š
Not a fair comparison by any means, but I ran my buddy's KS-12 side by side just to see what was what. We had to adjust the gas settings on the KS-12 twice to support the 3 different brands of ammo we were using, but the Beretta ate whatever you put through it. The action is crazy fast and recoil is incredibly light, so follow-up shots are a dream. I've never been able to double-tap a 12 guage like I can with this 1301.
After the first 60 rounds, I'm very impressed. I think I'll keep it.
