I have these 2 wood sets I got a few years ago from a Russian guy. Both were NOS undrilled unfitted etc. The red one with the plywood underside he sold to me as type 2. The Amber with a normal looking underside he sold to me as type 3. Actually that was a different Russian guy possibly. Both guys were sleazy and I didn't get the feeling they really knew what they were talking about. So my question is does anyone know if the red handguards are type2 (type2 I've seen is hardwood). And what is the double rectangle stamp on the Amber set that I've seen on alot of Russian wood.
